Algeria has always been connected to the world. The book that founded modern sociology was written in a castle near Frenda. The father of Western theology was born in what is now Algeria. The humanitarian principles behind the Geneva Conventions were inspired by an Algerian resistance leader. These connections have always been there — Algeria Connect exists to bring them into focus.
As an independent, English-language publication, Algeria Connect explores Algerian culture, history, society, and diaspora life. It serves as a cultural bridge: helping diaspora communities reconnect with their heritage, and introducing international readers to Algeria’s story for the first time.
Algeria Connect was founded and is edited by Ali. Raised in Algeria and currently based in the UK—where he studied and now works in education—Ali writes and researches the culture and history of his home country to share its cultural legacy with a global audience.
